About the project:

As a Performance Test Engineer, you will be a part of a specialist team that supports the delivery of IT change across the business.

Tasks
  • Planning, developing, and executing all performance testing activities across multiple applications and systems.
  • Developing a working knowledge of the core IT systems and processes and delivering high quality test engineering solutions.
  • Working closely with developers in integrating levels of performance testing into continuous integration and delivery pipelines thus enabling earlier feedback in the development cycle and helping to continually improve testing processes.
Requirements
  • Experience in web application performance testing across multiple protocols (HTTPS/HTML, SMTP/POP, FTP, TCP/IP, XML/SOAP) resulting in delivery of robust and high-quality scalable solutions
  • Proficiency in J-meter performance test script capture and editing using bean shell scripting or groovy/similar
  • Proficiency in the use of monitoring and alerting configuration and tooling such as App Dynamics or similar
  • Agile/DevOps experience and understanding of testing best practice and performance toolsets (J-meter, Taurus, Gatling, K9 etc.)
  • Demonstrable experience in Oracle databases and DB performance analysis using basic SQL skills 
  • Understanding of server level application configuration and network protocols
  • Strong system analysis skills and ability to analyse data for performance bottlenecks using various tooling
  • Experience with configuration, creation, and maintenance of Performance Test Frameworks and Scripts
  • Basic knowledge or experience in Linux OS such as ability to use in-built performance tools, text editors, and monitoring
