You will build and maintain test automation for payments platforms, integrating advanced automation scripts into CI/CD pipelines to reduce manual effort and accelerate release cycles. Your scope of work spans UI, API, and integration-level testing, validating payment flows and ensuring compliance with diverse regulatory and operational requirements.

What you’ll be doing
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based automation frameworks for end-to-end payments processing
- Automate UI, API (REST/SOAP), and integration tests using robust testing tools and best practices
- Translate functional requirements into test cases covering SWIFT/ISO 20022, credit transfers, direct debits, routing, and settlement
- Validate payment processing rules — cut-off times, FX, limits, sanctions screening, returns, and exception handling
- Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) for unattended execution and reporting
- Analyse test failures (logs, message traces) and raise defects with clear, comprehensive evidence
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Devs, and BAs to define acceptance criteria and maintain automation traceability
- Maintain dashboards, metrics, and coverage reports ensuring visibility of release readiness

Who we’re looking for
Core Automation Expertise
- Strong proficiency in Java, applying clean code principles and test automation design patterns
- Experience with relevant frameworks and tools:
✔ JUnit/TestNG, Cucumber (BDD optional)
✔ Selenium/Playwright (UI)
✔ REST Assured, SoapUI, Postman (API)
✔ Maven/Gradle, Git, Jenkins/GitLab CI/CD - Familiarity with logs, traces, ELK, Splunk, and basic SQL
Payments Domain Expertise
- Understanding of payment lifecycles (initiation → settlement → reconciliation)
- Familiarity with ISO 20022, SWIFT MT/MX, and local clearing formats
- Knowledge of compliance aspects — sanctions screening, resiliency, and audit requirements
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Performance testing exposure (JMeter, Gatling)
- Container basics (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Testing event-driven architectures (Kafka)
- Experience in test data management or ledger reconciliation
