Tasks
  • Delivering change to production daily.
  • Building and maintaining distributed containerized platforms in production.
  • Reviewing, designing and re-engineering processes with new technologies to improve performance.
  • Supporting knowledge sharing in the GCP space to help the whole team develop skills to support our infrastructure.
  • Working closely with a globally distributed team to ensure round the clock support and development of our products.
  • Later on: Working closely with the wider development team and product owners to build solutions suited to business needs.
  • Providing production support for the day-to-day running of the products you are building.
Requirements
  • Fluency in English
  • CICD: Hands-on experience of enabling technologies, principles, and practices of Continuous Integration, Delivery, and Deployment – we look to build a lot of our tooling from scratch, so an appetite to develop new tools is invaluable
  • Hands-on experience of platform and systems architecture – particularly driving architectural decisions, working with, containerization of applications, building cloud native applications from scratch or modifying existing applications to be cloud ready
  • Cloud Native Technologies: Docker. Kubernetes
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code approach and tools that support it (e.g. Terraform)
  • Experience with serverless model (e.g. CloudRun): Bash, , Knowledge of GitHub and related good practices 
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure/services (particularly Google Cloud Platform),
  • Strong understanding of technology layers in application landscape, storage, OS, network, database, application
  • Demonstrable, very good, spoken & written communication skills across global organization,
  • Proven triage capability under pressure, able to make strong priority judgement at runtime balancing contending demands,
  • Technically inquisitive with progressive interest in modern engineering disciplines and techniques,
  • Understanding of customers' needs and delivering very good, customer service,
  • Making prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes,
  • Experience in Agile/ DevOps environment and in assisting in production support
