About the project:

The SWAT Digital team is looking for a creative and motivated Automation Engineer with excellent analytical, programming, problem-solving and communication skills.  In this role the successful candidate will build automation test engineering solutions that operate on system and application components deployed in on-premise and multiple cloud platforms (e.g. GCP, AWS).  Their principal task will be to automate the process of creating/adding new tests to the solution, amending tests, executing them, visualising test results and presenting analyses in an easily consumable form by multiple stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.

Tasks
  • Develop clean, elegant and reusable code that is easy to maintain and extend
  • Develop and implement automation tests at various levels (unit, integration) to help verify software functionality and quality.
  • Quality assurance through test automation scripting and React programming
  • Integrate automation tools to create a consistent and efficient testing environment.
  • Analyze the results of automated tests to identify bugs and problems in the application.
  •  Working on creating and maintaining testing standards and best practices related to testing and software quality.
  • Actively participate in the process of making improvements and changes in the way the team works to increase efficiency and quality.
Requirements
  • The ability to create, modify, execute and analyse software tests at every level: Unit, Integration, System, UAT and SIT
  • Proven ability to work as SDET in an Agile/Scrum team as a key contributor
  • The ability to create clear test documentation (test plans, test cases) as required from user stories and close collaboration with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to write production quality test code at multiple levels of test pyramid
  • Coding and scripting experience to support test framework, automation and tool development
  • Deep familiarity with multiple testing frameworks (e.g. Cucumber, Selenium) and a proven ability to switch between them with a minimum of ramp-up time
  • Strong experience with multiple forms of testing activity (Feature, Regression, System, Integration, Performance and Security) and an ability to automate tests for all of them
  • Familiarity with at least one major cloud service (GCP preferred, AWS acceptable)
  • Ability to collaborate with peers and to work cross-functionally with testing personnel in other software teams in multiple locations
