Our client is looking for an experienced DevOps / Cloud Engineer to join a global technology team supporting a large-scale cloud transformation initiative. In this role, you will help migrate over 100 microservices to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) while building reliable, scalable, and observable cloud-native solutions.
You will work closely with application development teams to onboard services onto Kubernetes, improve operational excellence, and enhance platform reliability through automation, monitoring, and modern CI/CD practices.

What you’ll be doing
- Design, build, and operate cloud platforms on GCP/GKE.
- Support the migration of large-scale microservices environments to Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement deployment standards and operational best practices.
- Deploy and support Java and Python microservices in Kubernetes environments.
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications.
- Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerting solutions.
- Investigate production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvements.
- Promote Infrastructure as Code and automation across environments.
- Ensure compliance with security, operational, and technology standards.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, documentation, and team enablement activities

Who we’re looking for
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (preferably GKE).
- Experience operating or migrating microservices platforms at scale.
- Practical experience supporting Java and Python applications in Kubernetes.
- Strong background in monitoring and observability tools, ideally within the Grafana ecosystem (Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, etc.).
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
- Strong understanding of production support, reliability, and incident management.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in distributed, international teams.
- Pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
Nice to Have
- Experience with GCP services such as IAM, VPC, Cloud Logging, Monitoring, or Artifact Registry.
- Helm chart development and standardization.
- Service Mesh technologies (e.g., Istio).
- API Gateway and ingress management experience.
- Security tooling, container scanning, policy-as-code, or workload identity solutions.
- Previous experience in cloud migration or platform engineering programs.
