Tasks

1.    Install, configure, and maintain IBM InfoSphere DataStage software components, including servers, engine tiers, clients, and related infrastructure, ensuring proper integration with existing systems and databases.

2.     Perform day-to-day administration tasks such as user management, security setup, role-based access control, and permissions management to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.

3.    Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize configurations to ensure optimal performance and scalability of DataStage jobs and workflows.

4.    Manage software updates, patches, and version upgrades for DataStage components, ensuring compliance with vendor recommendations and security best practices.

5.    Conduct capacity planning exercises to anticipate future resource requirements and ensure adequate infrastructure is in place to support growing data integration needs.

6.    Manage metadata repositories and lineage tracking for DataStage jobs and data assets, ensuring data lineage and impact analysis capabilities are maintained.

7.    Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards regarding data security, privacy, and access control, implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities.

8.    Collaborate with other IT teams, database administrators, and business stakeholders to integrate DataStage with other enterprise systems and data sources, facilitating data exchange and integration.

9.    Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, resolving issues, answering queries, and escalating complex problems to vendor support or higher-level IT teams as necessary.

10.  Perform administrative activities such as Project/User creation, Roles Management, Import and Export projects, database configuration setup, dataset management.

11.  Contribute and implement DataStage standards, policies and procedures.

12.  Knowledge in real-time stages such as MQ, XML, JAVA, WEB components

13. Knowledge in Business Glossary, Metadata Workbench, and Information Analyzer helpful is great but not mandatory.

14.  UNIX scripting knowledge required.

Requirements

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

·       Proven experience as a DataStage Administrator or similar role in enterprise-level environments.

·       In-depth knowledge of IBM InfoSphere DataStage architecture, components, and best practices.

·       Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining DataStage software, including server administration, security setup, and performance tuning.

·       Strong understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing, and data integration principles.

·       Experience with database concepts and SQL query language.

·       Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Unix shell scripting) for automation and task scheduling.

·       Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

·       Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Administrator - InfoSphere DataStage) are a plus.
