As a Data Architect within the CIB Data & Analytics IT team, you will play a key role in defining and implementing data architecture solutions that align with business objectives and IT strategy. You will lead the design and development of architectures, ensuring compliance with group standards, regulatory requirements, and operational risk controls.
 
Your work will involve creating conceptual, logical, and semantic models to support data consistency and scalability, while acting as an ambassador for best practices in data architecture.

Tasks
    • Understand business requirements through collaboration with the CIB Chief Data Office, business users, and subject matter experts.

    • Translate business needs into solution designs and functional requirements.

    • Communicate functional solutions to development teams and provide ongoing support.

    • Promote data architecture best practices, standards, and tools across the organization.

    • Contribute to project/system data architecture solutions and ensure adherence to group standards.

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to enforce data standards and execute the CIB Data Architecture strategy.

    • Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with data strategy and standards.

Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Data Architect in a large, complex, and geographically dispersed organization.
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of data management, data architecture, and data governance within Financial Services.
  • Skills:
    • Proven logical data modeling skills and experience with enterprise logical models.
    • Familiarity with industry models (BIAN, FSDM, BDW).
    • Proficiency in tools such as Visual Paradigm, IBM Infosphere Data Architect, or CA Erwin Data Modeler (Collibra/Informatica is a plus).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Mindset: Ability to work independently, think strategically, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Hadoop (Cloudera/HortonWorks), GCP or other cloud data environments.
  • Knowledge of streaming technologies (Kafka, Flink, Pub/Sub).
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
