This also helps forecast the financial effects of migration and facilitates the development of cost scenarios.    

Maintaining business continuity and minimizing risk during migration

  To maintain business continuity, a detailed migration plan must be prepared and followed closely. It is also worth remembering that cloud migration does not have to be a single, large undertaking. Applications or services can be moved gradually, allowing their operation in the new environment to be tested. Testing is also an opportunity to develop solutions for potential failures, enabling the system to be restored quickly if real problems occur. Data security is one of the challenges associated with cloud migration. It is also essential to verify that the provider holds the appropriate certifications. Cloud migration often involves changes to application architecture or network configuration, which may affect performance and create a risk of data leakage. To prevent this, every organization should develop change-management procedures and continuously monitor the operation of systems in the cloud. It is also advisable to have a contingency plan and test it regularly. The risks of cloud migration can also be minimized by selecting appropriate KPIs. Continuous measurement makes it possible to respond quickly to any deviations. It also indicates the effectiveness of the migration process itself and can be used to assess the costs incurred.
